DESCRIPTION:WiMSE is going to start offering a new way to get in touch with other undergraduate MSE students this semester with our new series of events called “WiMSE Wednesdays”. WiMSE will be hosting weekly outdoor socially-distanced coffee chats\, with the first one next Wednesday\, October 28th at 4pm. WiMSE Wednesdays will be a way to connect with other MSE students and get some socialization during this unique semester. \nThere will be a limited number of people who can attend and because of COVID we will not be able to provide tea or coffee\, but feel free to bring your own. We will be meeting outside under the tents which are located between the Love building and the MRDC; masks will be mandatory and we will provide hand sanitizer. There is a map attached to this email as well which specifies which social distanced tent we will be meeting at. There is also an option to meet online as well\, and the blue jeans linked is attached below. DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in doing MSE outreach this summer? WiMSE is partnering with WIE (Women in Engineering) to organize hand-on materials science related activities for the Technology\, Engineering & Computing (TEC) summer camp\, for rising 7th and 8th grade kids. \nThe TEC and Jr. TEC Camp dates are June 10-14 and June 18-20 respectively. We are looking for volunteers to help with outreach activities for any of the following dates and time slots. \n\n\nPS. Volunteers will be paid for their time to plan and execute these activities. DESCRIPTION:Dr. Belma Erdogan-Haug \nBusiness Development and R&D Program Manager at 3M \n \nDr. Erdogan-Haug received her PhD in Polymer Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology. After finishing her post-doctorate at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst\, Erdogan-Haug started her 3M career in 2006 in the Corporate Research Materials Laboratory (CRML) as a senior research scientist. Here she worked on multiple technologies including Pressure Sensitive Adhesives\, Nanoparticles and Low Shrink Dental Materials that can be used in many areas throughout 3M. \n  \nLearn about her career and experiences being a part of Women Leadership in 3M.
