Amalie Atassi

Graduate President

Amalie Atassi is a 2nd year graduate student in the Stingelin Lab and Yee Lab, and the Graduate President for WiMSE. Her research focuses on the thermal and electrical properties of organic materials. She is an advocate for women’s rights, gender equity, and intersectional feminism. In her free time, she enjoys exploring places to eat, exercising, and reading.

     

    Alicia Chen

    Undergraduate President

    Alicia Chen is a fourth-year undergraduate student from Connecticut. She has been involved in WiMSE going on three years and is the undergraduate president of WiMSE. She is in a VIP team working on Martian renewable energy systems. In her free time, Alicia enjoys taekwondo, drawing and reading.

      Jodie Parham

      Undergraduate Vice President

      Jodie Parham is from Knoxville, TN and is a third year undergrad in MSE. She is currently doing undergrad research with Dr. Radhakrishnaiah Parachuru and also serves on the MSE Undergraduate Student Advisory Council (USAC). Outside of school, she loves to go hiking and play board games.

        Dasha (Daria) Bukharina

        Graduate Publicity Chair

        Daria is a 3rd-year graduate student in Professor Vladimir Tsukruk’s lab working on bioderived materials. As publicity chair, her efforts are focused on establishing WiMSE’s presence on social media platforms as a tool for expanding the organization’s outreach and creating a space for people to connect and learn more about WiMSE activities. In her free time, Daria enjoys going out with friends and playing SET.

          Kelsey Cavallaro

          Graduate Social and Outreach Chair

          Kelsey Anne Cavallaro is a 2nd year graduate student in Professor Matthew McDowell’s research group, focusing on improving materials for use in lithium ion and future batteries. She is the graduate social and outreach chair for WiMSE and is passionate about advancing gender equality and protecting the environment. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and eating food with friends.

            Alexa Peruffo

            Undergraduate Professional Development Chair

            Alexa Peruffo is a third-year undergraduate student currently serving as the Professional Development Chair for this organization. She is passionate about being a Yellow Jacket and serves as both a tour guide and MSE Ambassador to encourage incoming students to choose Tech. In her free time she can be found in the gym, playing sports or in the kitchen expanding her culinary skills.
